"C. Daniel Boling has released "THE OLD INTERNATIONAL" and it's a thirteen-cut folk music masterpiece which includes wonderful orchestration, beautiful vocal arrangements, and meaningful lyrics. Boling also follows my golden folk music rule by keeping his songs at a modest length; average song length on this disc is about 3:40. If you liked Boling's "WELCOME HOME," you'll love the new disc. It's more Boling, it's more beautiful, it's more 'better.' By the way, the packaging of the new CD is some of the best I've seen. It reminds me of the days when it was something special to buy a record album, listen to the music, and spend hours reading the album cover. You can do that with this disc. Yippee!" -MyTexasMusic.com
A NOTE OF INTRODUCTION FROM DANIEL:
I'm Daniel Boling, a folksinger and songwriter around the U.S. for over twenty years. My third CD, THE OLD INTERNATIONAL, was released in June, 2003. The album features my original story songs of family life, love, friendship, and joys and sorrows along the way. It is my great honor and pleasure to be joined on some of the tracks by dear friends from the road including Bill Ward, T.R. Ritchie, Still on the Hill, Dave Nachmanoff, Susan Clark, Orrin Star and a few more! This is still a solo singer/ songwriter album, but with some tasteful instrumental backup and harmony vocals - just here and there.
My previous releases, WELCOME HOME in 2000 and PERFECTLY STABLE in 1999 are enjoying air play in a variety of U.S. radio markets as well as in Europe. Meanwhile a lot of folks are finding my music on the internet too, making my song FLIGHT 93 the #1 Folk and World Folk song on MP3 in October, 2001.
Recent songwriting honors include: Finalist in the South Florida Folk Festival 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003; Finalist in the Suwannee Springfest in LiveOak, Florida in 2000; Finalist in the Heartland Folks Fest in Kansas City, Kansas in 2001; and Honorable Mention in the 2002 Woody Guthrie Songwriting Contest. My song WELCOME HOME is the official theme song of the Albuquerque (New Mexico) Folk Festival.
Home, family and a day job take a good deal of my attention, but I tour as much as possible and am seeking venues where family friendly music is appreciated. Please get in touch for bookings, recordings or further information, or just to visit. Thank you for supporting acoustic music!
