The artist, Gabriel Duffin, is a native of Northern Ireland. Born in Belfast, he was raised in the Glens of Co. Antrim.
Since 1983, when his musical interest began, he has taught himself to play the guitar. As his skills advanced, he began playing lead guitar with several of the top Irish bands touring in Great Britain, Ireland, Switzerland and Germany.
He has performed at the London Palladium, the Apollo Theater, the Geneva Country Music Awards show and the Irish Music Awards backing up some of the top European and American artists.
In 1995 he embarked on a solo career, playing pubs and clubs around Ireland.
Transitioning from country music to traditional Irish folk music, Mr. Duffin has begun writing his own ballads.
This recording, his second, features traditional Irish tunes, eight folk songs and ballads, and two original works, including the title track, Back Home to You.
