This is a concept album in the truest sense of the word.
The first seven songs are based on a true tragedy that happened on the ice flows in the North Atlantic ocean off the coast of Newfoundland,Canada, in 1914 when over seventy men froze to death when caught in a vicious three day winter storm. The rest of the songs remain in the same theme of the working man and the sea. Seven of ten of these songs were written by Everett Adams to commemorate these brave men who gave up their lives to try to make a few dollars to feed their families. These men worked under the worst of conditions, exploited by the owners of the ships they sailed on. Gary Callahan,an excellent singer and musician, collaborated with Everett to bring these songs to life. This is a must have CD for those that like truth and reality in their music.
