Traditional, Medieval and Original music from the British Isles and far beyond....

Horses Brawl are a distinctive instrumental trio who create a vital and vibrant sound using traditional and contemporary sources and techniques.

Horses Brawl are:
Adrian Lever - Guitar
Laura Cannell - Fiddle, Recorders, Crumhorns
Jonathan Manton - Cello (with additional objects thrown into the mixture...)

Formed in january 2003, Horses Brawl came together to perform music from many countries and over many centuries which was intended for dancing. The three musicians who make up Horses Brawl began to stray away from formal dance music into semi-improvised music using their influences in contemporary instrumental techniques, traditional folk music and historically informed performance to combine and create highly exhuberant and intense music.

Initially coming together for a Creative Arts East tour in rural Norfolk, they have since performed twice on London's South Bank at Queen Elizabeth Hall and at The Thames Festival, received airplay on BBC Radio 3, Resonance FM, KTAO FM (in Northern New Mexico) and released their Debut Album, 3 track EP, and been on several compilation albums including, 'We're from Norwich No.1' (released on the 'Mummy where's the milkman' label (Summer 2004) and the 'NPUC Treasure Party' released by Metal Queen Projects ( Dec 2004).

Recent highlights have included performing at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, and the Halesworth Arts Festival in Suffolk as well as many other performances including the Norwich Fringe Festival, The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Art, The Skelton Festival, Swanage Folk Festival, The Forum Norwich and Norwich Arts Centre.
