This 2-CD pack is a unique compilation of devotional music rendered by some of the most prominent artists from India and Pakistan. It is a live recording of the annual event organized by Seher and Delhi Tourism: Bhakti Utsav 2005.

Bhakti utsav celebrates the diverse ways of reaching out and beyond through music.

The festival brings together classical, traditional and folk forms together on a single platform.
These forms of music vary from Mantras, digitized prayers believed to lead to acquiring power and unusual capacities to Bhajans, devotional songs sung in worship of the Lord; from Qawwali a popular form of devotional music going back to nearly seven centuries to Sopna Sangeet the traditional temple â€" music of Kerela; from Krities full of musicality and aesthetic content composed and sung in the Carnatic music to Dhrupad, a highly structured classical form of the Hindustani music with its vigour and robustness; from the Haveli Sangeet, the temple â€" music of Rajasthan to Gajar, Gandhad and Bharud, the traditional Maharashtrian forms of Bhakti music; form the imaginative and romantic leaps of Khayal, the dominant classical form of the North to many other popular forms and styles of music, Bhakti expresses itself across time and space attaining wide plurality and dep emotional resonances. It reveals the cosmic in the utterly local.
