the vocal group IRMELIN finally releases
their first album â€kärligheten†– love songs.
Three female singers meet in the vocal
traditional music of Scandinavia. Dark
and elegant songs and tunes in personal
arrangements that bring out improvisation
and individual expression. With great
passion they tell stories that are just as
adequate today as they were centuries ago.
The album contains traditional Swedish folk
music; humorous songs, rhythmical diddling
and of course one or two bittersweet love
songs!
IRMELIN members Malin Foxdal, Maria Misgeld
and Karin Ericsson Back have been singing
together since 1999. 2006 they went on their first international tour; to Japan! The group has given
concerts on some of the biggest stages
in Sweden; Skansen, Nalen, Blå Hallen
(in the City Hall, where the Nobelpriceceremony
is held) Musik vid Siljan, Rättvik
Folklore Festival, Bingsjöstämman, Västerås
Konserthus among others, and has also
performed live in Swedish television
and radio. The group has also recorded
soundtracks for Dramatiska Institutet
(University College of Film, Radio, television
and Theatre) and Teater i Haga (theatre
group in Stockholm).
The album »kärligheten« - love songs was
released March 23 2006.
