Songs on this CD are from the years of 1980-1990 roughly. Estonia regaining it`s independence, first travels abroad, friends... much in these songs are from the thoughts deeds, stories, dreams and lives of others, far or close...Recorded in February 1993, at Kullamäe, on the north coast of Estonia, in the red house close to the shore. Estonian wildlife sounds added from the recordings of Fred Jüssi. Artwork and layout by Mae Kivilo. JAAK JOHANSON (b. 1959) Active fascination with traditional music and singing from 1976, when joined folklore group LEEGAJUS that made efforts to draw attention to authentic unique Estonian singing and playing ways, specially over 3000 years old runo singing. In 1982 graduated with a degree in acting. From 1987 together with some young actors and students actively toured in Estonia for 5 years, collecting diaries, songbooks, photos..., recording and video recording the lifestories of the older generation. Since 1987 also at the Tallinn Old Town House of Music within the framework of a wider cultural-educational project in the medieval city of Tallinn. Leading radio program in Estonian Radio about traditional music of different nations, and off-stream music. When performing, prefers more eye to eye, face to face situations... ANTS JOHANSON (b. 1962) Concert producer and organizer of VILJANDI FOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL. MART JOHANSON (b. 1963) Singer, songwriter.
