James Athas is a local musician in Southern Wisconsin. His wife gave him a hammered dulcimer about 10 years ago. He was promptly told to "learn how to play it." About five years ago Mr. Athas thought about combining the hammered dulcimer, with piano. This resulted in a very satisfying Christmas CD called, "Love Came Down." It has been very well received locally, and hopefully will be recognized around the country. Jim has also produced a CD called "From Heaven Above.
This is Jim's latest CD called, "Simple Aire." It includes arrangements of favorite hymns and folk songs. It features piano and hammered dulcimer tracks, both performed by Jim. These tracks provide a calm, meditative experience, that the listener will enjoy.
