So, do you like traditional Irish/Scottish/American folk music?

If you appreciate Niamh Parsons, Susan McKeown, June Tabor, Cathy Ryan, Natalie Merchant, and/or Suzanne Vega, you definitely need to take a moment, click on the tracks to the left here and take a quick listen. You will find a sweet, rich voice singing murder ballads, sea shanties, and stories about strong women and men, supplemented by guitar rhythms that are engaging while still providing fertile ground for Jessica's well-voiced melodies.

Jessica Haines has a rich, deep ethereal quality to her voice -- one which has been characterized as a "voice for the ages." A master storyteller, she adores broadsides, ballads, and seafaring tales that recount the deed and misdeeds of lovers, drunkards, heroes, and heroines. Her humor and passion are readily served by her strong, dusky alto voice.

Always energetic, Mark’s innovative arrangements and spirited picking seems to come from deep within his soul, and brings an energy and passion that pairs naturally with Jessica’s emotive expression.

"Jessica is one of the vocalists who can [...] 'yawdle.' It can be as noisy as can be, but once somebody starts singing, everybody shushes and listens to the person do their song." -- Kevin Gagen, pub co-owner, Castletown Geoghegan, Belleville, IL

This is our demo CD. We are currently working on a full-length CD to be released in July of 2006, entitled "So Here's To You." We perform regularly in the Saint Louis area (especially at the Scottish Arms - www.thescottisharms.com - and Castletown Geoghegan - www.ctgpub.com) and will tour regionally this coming year in support of So Here's To You.

Because we want to get the word out, we are offering Off She Goes as part of CD Baby's $5 CD sale. The link is somewhere on this page (if you are viewing this page on CDBaby.com) for more details - but the gist is that you add this CD to your cart, and go find 2 more CD's that are part of the sale, and *poof* you get three CD's for $15!! You can't beat that with a wet noodle!

So, get clicking... :)
