In 1988, Jimmy attained a life-long dream when he was invited to join the legendary Country Gentlemen. Jimmy traveled the United States, Canada, and Europe with the Gent's for six and half years. The Country Gentlemen took him to diverse venues as the Grand Ole Opry, Nashville Now TV Show, and the White House in Washington, DC.
In 1995, after leaving the Country Gentlemen, Jimmy started his own accounting/investment firm and also had the pleasure of being a member of Continental Divide. Jimmy stayed three years with this talented group. Traveling through the US, Canada, and venues as TNN News, Prime Time Country, he was also a recepient of the 1995 IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year award.
Joining Jimmy is Gary Reece on banjo. Gary is from Lafayette, TN, and helped his father form a group called the Tennessee Bluegrass Band when he was 13. Gary also has had the privilege to perfom with Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys at WSM's Grand Ole Opry. Gary is also a fine vocalist which he showed this ability while performing with The Wayne Lewis Band.
Rounding out Santa Fe are Ron Lane on guitar and John Pennell on bass. Ron is from Central West Virginia and began playing at the age of nine. Ron is very versatile in vocals as well as his great lead guitar work. Ron employes contemporary styling as well as traditional melody based leads.
A native of Champaign, IL, John spent his whole life involved with music, either as a teacher, performer, or songwriter. John has had the privilege of performing with Alison Krauss, Harley Allen, and Chris Jones. He has written many songs for Alison Krauss including "Too Late To Cry", "Foolish Heart", and "Every Time You Say Goodbye". Currently John lives in Nashville, TN. where he continues to write songs in both country and bluegrass music.
