I remember a plaque my grandmother had hanging on her dining room wall. It read, "We get too soon old and too late smart." I used to ask her what it meant. Though I understood the humorouse meaning of the phrase, I didn't nor could I, understand the deeper meaning. She would say, "Johnnie, you will understand it when you get older." Well now I am much older and the meaning of that little proverb has become very real. I have discovered how little I really do know and that many of life's questions would go unanswered if it depended upon me. Life's questions are answered in the Word of God, the Bible, and through Jesus Christ the Author of life. Each one of these songs talk about some aspect of my life: thinking, meditating, working, praying, even death. Experiences I have gone through, and while going through them, drawing from and learning from my relationship with my Heavenly Father and the Word He gave. "Talkin''bout life" is some of my stories and experiences put to music. Sometimes they are light hearted stories. Other times the songs are more somber and serious. The hope is that all who listen can identify with some of these learning experiences, and that they will minister to folks as I'm "Talkin''bout Life."
