The Sultana 1865 album is new original music paying tribute to many of the major events of the Civil War. The title song of the album, "Sultana 1865" tells of the steamship Sultana tragedy in April 1865 which resulted in loss of more lives than the Titanic disaster in the early 1900's. I am sure you will enjoy the Civil War musical tribute represented in this album encompassing major war conflicts from Manassas to Gettysburg and beyond.

Joe is a southeastern Missouri native who was born and raised in the beautiful Ozark Mountains that is rich in musical history. He has been musically inclined since the age of 10 and has since learned and played many stringed musical instruments some of which are played on this newly released Sultana album. Joe is the past president/charter president/founder of the Ozark Bluegrass and Gospel Music Association, past member of the Missouri Area Bluegrass Association, band leader of the Misty Mountain Newgrass Band, Old Time Ozark Mountain String Band, and Thick and Thin Band which collectively plays music for the Revolutionary War period through the Civil War period to the early 1900's.

He also has played for many years at Silver Dollar City, at Branson, MO, has played for the Missouri State Historical Society, Illinois State Historical Society, and has performed for numerous civil war re-enactments throughout the Midwest. He presently owns and operates Digitrax Recording and Production Studio which records various artists throughout mid America. He looks forward to sharing his original music with you in his new Sultana Album.
