In twenty five years on the folk scene, Vermont-based fiddler, singer and composer PETE SUTHERLAND has established dual citizenship in both the traditional and contemporary acoustic music worlds. With "A Clayfoot's Tale" he underscores a collection of thoughtful original lyrics with his painterly eye for detail and a keen, loving ear for deep folk roots.
Raised on a diet of operatic arias, Broadway show tunes and British invasion melodies, Pete discovered both folk music and songwriting in college and like Huck Finn "lit out for the territories". A warm-voiced singer and adept player of half a dozen or more instruments known for his potent originals as well as his intense recreations of age-old ballads and fiddle tunes, Pete's music "shines with a pure spirit and cannot fail to uplift all those who hear him".
