In making this CD, our goal was to produce a collection of imaginative children's songs that we treasured and wished to pass on to our children, grandchildren and future generations with the help of family and friends. It was a lot of fun to do and was endearing to see and hear the children do their parts. We use all acoustic instruments playing mostly older songs.
Jim Foldy plays lead guitar using a Petros custom-made 6-string and a Guild jumbo 12-string and plays high guitar on several songs. He sings lead on Winken, Blinken And Nod, Puff The Magic Dragon and seven others. His two sons play on the album and two of his grandchildren sing in the children's chorus. His wife Kathy sings in the adult chorus on the album.
Jerry Foldy play bass guitar on all of the songs. His son Jacob Foldy, who is only 3 learned two of the songs and sings on Puff The Magic Dragon and This Land Is Your Land in the children's chorus.
Mike Foldy plays rhythm guitar on most of the songs and does a duet with his wife Tammy on the song, Magic. They also sing in the adult chorus and their daughter, Hailey Foldy age 4, sings in the children's chorus.
Tom Kennedy plays the Autoharp having learned his style from songs of the Carter Family and Mike Seeger. He sings lead on the first song, When The Train Comes Along, as well as When We All Go Out To Play and Jimmy Cracked Corn. His three grandchildren, Maya Gonzalez age 8, Susan Gonzalez age 6 and Lilly Koss age 7 sing in the children's chorus while Tom also sings as part of the adult chorus.
Warren Williams with his magnificent voice sings lead on the Garden Song, Morningtown Ride and Waltzing With Bears. He sings harmony on many of the other songs and helped out in the adult chorus. His wife Joannie, who is Jim's sister, plays a hand drum on Don't Let The Rain Come Down and sings in the adult chorus. Warren has produce two of his own albums, The Innocent, which is mainly sacred music and an album of Christmas hymns.
Sean Cranley plays mandolin and sings lead vocals on A Place In The Choir, Teddy Bears' Picnic and Wonderful Baby, the latter two with him on lead 12-string guitar. His daughter, Breeyn Cranley was the director of the children's choir during the recording session. His other daughter, Caelyn Cranley plays the drums on Octopus's Garden. (Pretty good for a 12 year old.) His son Logan age 10, sings in the children's chorus.
Zachary Scot Johnson plays the melodic violin on 5 songs. He has produced his own album, Moment of Clarity, where he is featured on vocals, piano and guitar as well as violin.
