Bob Scullin, SJ, a native Detroiter, has been singing and playing sacred and political music for forty years. As a Jesuit priest, he has composed a number of songs for worship and has written topical songs on justice-related music. He is a self-taught guitarist and found much inspiration in the work of Bob Franke, John McKutcheon, Bob Dylan, and Joan Baez. He claims wryly that Joan Baez (recordings) taught him his guitar style and Bob Dylan (recordings) shaped his vocal style. His song "El Salvador" has been a standard at Detroit area Latin American Solidarity events for more than 25 years.
