Salamander Crossing spent ten years on the folk curcuit, becoming "one of New England's most celebrated roots bands, churning out its self-described 'amphibious bluegrass' tunes on three acclaimed albums: their self-titled debut, which earned a Boston Music Award nomination for Outstanding New Contemporary Folk Act, 1996's PASSION TRAIN and 1998's BOTTLENECK DREAMS" (Valley Advocate).

Rani Arbo, lead singer and fiddler, is praised for her evocative, affecting vocal style, the Boston Globe announcing that "[i]n person and on disc, Arbo's sultry vocals rivet the listener with the ring of truth." Alas, Salamander Crossing disbanded in 1999.

A retrospective disc, HENRY STREET, is avaliable from Signature Sounds Recordings; Arbo herself has formed an hot new genre-crossing band, Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem, with a new album, COCKTAIL SWING, also available from Signature Sounds.
