Singer, song writer John Hennessey is a Traditional Irish Folk Musician residing in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The consumate entertainer, Hennessey's acoustic performances are a delightful blend of some of the best Irish Folk Music ever written and his own original compositions. His enthusiastic delivery, coupled with his witty charm and seemingly inexhaustible repertoire makes for a very enjoyable and entertaining evening. If you like good Irish Folk Music and you like a good story then John Hennessey is just what the doctor ordered. A versitile musician John plays the six and twelve string guitar, banjo, harmonica, tin whistle and the bodhron. His vocal styling lends an authentic feel to the music that almost makes you feel as if you've been transported back to the Olde Sod itself.
"The Fine Brown Brew", John's first CD upholds the Bardic tradition of story telling through music by offering a number of musical stories that run the gamut from sad and poignant to up-tempo and enthusiastic. From the original title track of the rousing "Fine Brown Brew" to the poignant "Across the Hills of Home" this CD is a wonderfully well rounded compilation of Irish Folk Music bound to please even the most discriminating listener. John Hennessey is the real deal when it comes to Irish-American Pub Singers. John has clearly succeeded in marrying the emotion of the sean nos with the American Folk Style. His songs carry the stories behind them straight through without pretense. So, grab a Guiness, put "The Fine Brown Brew" on the CD player and step into the pub. Enjoy. Track List: 1.
