Terry has been playing solo acoustic guitar for more than 20 years. Prominent influences on his style have been the instrumental music of Bruce Cockburn, Leo Kottke and Don Ross. His current compositions show a leaning toward folk and blues with an emphasis on finger-style playing.

Much of his playing was the result of listening to old folk and blues music featured at Shier's Coffeehouse, a Toronto music venue run by Ken Whiteley. This inspired Terry to start his own coffeehouse, Kelly's Korner, at the University of Toronto.

Highlights of his music career have included: showcases at the North by Northeast Music Festival in Toronto, ON in June of 2000 and June of 2002, and at the Canadian Music Week Festival in Toronto in 2001; opening for Connie Kaldor at the Vital Spark Folk Club in Brooklin, ON in November of 2002; performing as a featured artist at the Southern Ontario Fingerstyle Guitar Association in Hamilton, ON in March of 2004.

Terry has been following up his appearances at Canadian Music Week and NXNE with shows at the Free Times Cafe and Holy Joe's in Toronto, Rendezvous Restaurant in Ajax, the Bayly Restaurant in Ajax, and Brix Coffeehouse in Uxbridge. He has also been performing at the many excellent open mike nights at Espresso Legato in Bowmanville, The Brig in Newcastle, The Down 'Omer and The Velvet Elvis in Oshawa, Oh Daily's Pub in Ajax, and at SOFGA in Hamilton.

Terry has just released a CD of instrumental acoustic guitar music, "Drifting", selections from which are on his web site: http://www.terryhart.ca .
