The Hookey Band are unique because they play Irish and Scottish music with attitude and an enthusiasm that has long been missing from the scene. The line up is vastly experienced and the group have two things in common. Firstly they all have great voices and are masters of their instruments, and secondly they have an unparalleled passion for "in your face Celtic music."
Celtic Harvest, The Hookey Band's third album, has already sold over 5,000 copies in the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. Tom Leary, the band's fiddle player, who replaced Chris Leslie (Fairport Convention) is well known in the UK and Ireland and has already toured the USA on a number of occasions. He has released two widely acclaimed solo albums and worked both individually and collectively with Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band. The rest of the band features Jon Cowen on vocals and guitar, Gary Warmington on bass guitar(for more information check out Richard Thompson's website) and Dave Lovick on drums. All three gel wonderfully with Bryan and Tom to give The Hookey Band that, "In your face Celtic music" experience.
