Rollicking twin fiddles and bright country harmonies define The Mercury Dimes, a band that emerged amid the early-century explosion of acoustic old-time and bluegrass music in San Francisco. These post-ironic urban traditionalists have traveled as far away as France to perform their mix of Appalachian fiddle tunes, old-time ballads, and country blues, and over the past year they have dominated the California stringband contest circuit.
"The seductive charms of The Mercury Dimes are hard to resist. ...this is an aural journey back up a spirtual sort of 'Walton's Mountain'." -- Americana UK "Dime-O-Mite!...presents a lively set of old time tunes and songs. The band reminds one of the New Lost City Ramblers in its versatility, equally comfortable raising a ruckus on Indian Ate a Woodchuck or performing a quiet duet like Lover's Lane." -- The Old Time Herald The Mercury Dimes are: Jordan "DM" Ruyle - Banjo, Guitar, Banjo Ukelele, Vox Elise Engelberg - Fiddle, Vox Sabra "Scope" Guzman - Guitar, Banjo Ukelele, Vox Mike Brown - Bass, Banjo, Guitar, Vox Michael Follstad - Fiddle, Mando, Guitar, Vox Matt Knoth - Guitar, Banjo, Bass, Vox *as selected by a panel of judges Check out the artist's website: http://www.themercurydimes.com/ Track List: 1.
