"wild, hard dance music...infectious"
This second release from the driving all-gal old-time stringband features a good strong handful of original material from within the old-time genre, with hints of country, bluegrass and straight up ballads. With the depth of harmony singing, the unique sound of old-time dobro, and featuring buckddancing as well as some hambone, the Stairwell Sisters have broken some new ground within the old music. Five years of playing together reveals a strong groove, and the diversity inherent in having five strong voices. Featuring: Lisa Berman - dobro, guitar, banjo Martha Hawthorne - bass Evie Ladin - banjo, buckdancing Stephanie Prausnitz - fiddle Sue Sandlin - guitar, tiple, accordion All of the sisters sing. Supported by the strong traditional music community in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Stairwell Sisters are in the midst of yet another revival of country music in an urban setting, often calling square dances in conjunction with concerts at rock clubs in the city. This all-gal band certainly knows how to put on a show! Check out the artist's website: http://www.stairwellsisters.com Track List: 1. Cindy in the Meadows 2. Come Along Jody 3. Lost Love 4.
