TINKU is a group of performing artists who play music native to Perú, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Colombia, Brasil, Paraguay, México, Cuba and Puerto Rico, specializing in Music of the Andes region of South America.

TINKU was founded in 1995 by Francisco Astudillo after he combined three essential elements: an overwhelming entrepreneurial spirit, a love for his roots, and a passion for music. Guided by these forces, TINKU's mission is to introduce the mystical and soothing sounds of Latin Folk music thru professional recordings and live concerts.

TINKU consist of highly skilled and experienced musicians who collectively count with over 30 years of experience in this specialty field. TINKU's ensembles consist of 3, 4 or 5 member bands to suit your special needs.

TINKU has four professional recordings under its own recording label, TINKU RECORDS. They include Volume 1: Music of the Andes (2001); Volume 2: Instrumental Andean Music (1999); Volume 3: Native Latin Music (2000); and Volume 4: Magical Latin Rhythms(2003).
