Tireile was formed in 2003 by Rodney Lancashire and Stephanie Geremia. They are based around the Sligo and Leitrim area in the Northwest of Ireland. They recorded and released their first title album in the autumn of that year and had a successfull tour of California joined with sitar and bouzouki player, Chris Hinderyckx. "With a rich blend of of flutes, whistles, banjo, bouzouki, mandola, mandolin, concertina, bodhran and even some sitar, the group creates a magical blend which will lift the spirits..."

Tir eile is gaelic for "the other land." The album includes a versatile and interesting selection of material: lively jigs, reels, and hornpipes ornamented in the South Sligo tradition, lovely arrangements of old songs and along side this traditional music from the North Connaught region an Indian composition, Hansadhwani, is included on the CD. Stephanie and Chris have both stayed in India and studied with Indian masters there. Vibrant and soulful, Tireile won't dissapoint.
