Alanzo Brooks: The Man: The Talent
The Man:
Alanzo Washington Brooks grew up in the parish of St. Elizabeth in Jamaica, West Indies, from this nestle he spread his wings and floated into a life of undying servitude to God. A solid family background keeps him on solid moral grounds. When asked how he would describe himself, Mr. Brooks replied " I see myself as God's spokesman, with a very interesting personality and a spirit that is relentlessly pursuing excellence".
The Talent:
This endeavour to excel has directed Alanzo into a life of spiritual inspiration through music. " I knew that I was meant to evangelize but being the unique person that I am I knew I had to find a medium beyond just public speaking or preaching. In 1997 I got baptized, I started to fool around the Guitar and some songs came to mind" he said. From this 'fooling around' a true talent was born and resulted in the production of his first album "WHEN LOVE SHINES".
The Man:
He sees himself as being first and foremost a Christian, a gospel singer and songwriter, who with God's help will guide him on his mission to inspire, teach and give assurance to those who seek the infallible truth.
The Talent:
Brooks says his role models in music were from the secular world.
"My role models are like Bob Marley, Kenny Rogers and Elvis Presley, so this helped to influence my choice of music on the album", he said. Alanzo's songs are ones of testimonial praises and inspirational messages. 'I will do anything' and 'Why Can't I' echoes his level of commitment to God. 'Holy Ghost is Real' and 'Jesus Reigns' tells of the fruitfulness and sanity of a life of Christianity. "A song like 'Sanctify Me' is basically a song that is seeking to encourage people, and that is my personal testimony", claimed Alanzo.
