Apostle D.J. Womack, Sr., started singing at the age of four (4) at the churches his father and grandfather pastored. He was born in Greenville, Alabama. At around the age of nine (9) he began singing in a family group that his mother, Evangelist Rosie M. Womack started with his five (5) siblings. They sang on local television shows and at other churches all around the state of Alabama and Georgia.
He is married to Vernesia L. Womack and together they have five children; three girls, and two boys. Apostle Womack has been preaching full-time for over ten years. He is also the founder of New Vision United International Ministries, Inc. (1993). He began writing songs at the same time that God birth the ministry into his hands. He has opened in music concerts for various artists such as: Lee Williams & Spiritual QCs, Evangelist Dorothy Norwood, and the Late Willie Neal Johnson are just to name a few. He started a church in Greenville, Alabama in 1998 and after successfully building the congregation he heard the call of God to turn the work over to his mother and to accept the call of an Evangelist. He has been to various cities singing, preaching, and teaching the word of God. He has seen God’s mighty power heal, deliver, and set the captive free. Apostle Womack had the desire to sing and later had the desire to want to learn to play the organ. After trying for many years he could never master the skill. It was not until 1997 after the laying on of hands of the deceased Prophet James Gibson, did God anoint Apostle Womack’s hands to receive the gift of playing the organ. After being on the Evangelistic field for five years, he heard the voice of God telling him it was time to come off of the road. Apostle Womack began to pray and seek God on what direction he should take. God spoke and said to plant a new church work. God’s voice led him to Troy, Alabama where he started New Vision Family Christian Center where everybody is somebody in Jesus’ name. After going through many struggles and disappointments, with God’s grace, and the inspiration of his long-time idols, The Williams Brothers, Apostle Womack decided to record his first album titled, “Can’t Give Up Now.†And with the mercy of God and the support of his wife and kids he has been doing just what the title of his new album says!
