Jan’s music represents her heart, soul and life.
She was the oldest child born to missionary parents in the tiny community of Seldovia, Alaska. However, her life did not start like most of ours. She was born dead. It was 45 minutes after her birth before she took her first breath.
Doctors never expected her to live and sent her home to die of heart trouble at age 10. Thirty years later God healed her heart in what can now only be described as a miracle. Jan endured many other hardships in her life including perils at sea, marital abuse, and an attempt on her life. God delivered her from all these challenges along with years of deep depression so that she could share her spirit with others through her music.
Her parents began teaching her music at age 4. Her passion for music and her love of children led her to get her degree in Elementary Education. She dedicated more than 36 years of her life to children and music. Now she is actively retired and has embarked on the next chapter of her life by forming her nonprofit corporation, Compassion 911, to raise money for humanitarian aid. In fact, all the money raised from the sale of her CD's and books goes directly to Compassion 911.
