Having overcome tremendous obstacles, Jacquie has come to rely on her favorite scripture that "Dwelling in the secret place of the Most High is the safest place to be" Ps. 91:1.
Born Jacqueline L. Johnson, she is the eldest of three children and a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. Jacquie is the mother of one son. Terrence Michael DeVaun Nixon. She recognized at an early age that the Lord had place a special calling on her life. She started singing at the tender age of six years old, sang her first solo in her church choir at the age seven and by the age of twelve was the musician for her music department at her home church. It was then when she came to the realization that she wanted to use her gifts and talents for the Lord.
A graduate of the nationally acclaimed School for the Creative and Performing Arts, Jacquie received formalized vocal training, participated in various musicals and was very active within the school community holding several elected and appointed offices. This avenue presented a multitude of opportunities where she was able to utilize her vocal abilities far beyond what she had imagined. While still attending S.C.P.A., she was an original member of the National recording group Mark Jones and Prosperity. Jacquie has also performed with such Gospel artists as Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, Darwin Hobbs, Rodney Bryant, Byron Cage, Jonathan Dunn and the female Gospel group Divinity, just to name a few. Jacquie was also featured on the "Dr. Bobby Jones New Artist Showcase" as well as many local, regional and National venues. Jacquie also attended the Cincinnati Metropolitan College where she had a double major of Accounting and Business Administration and Wright State University where she majored in Child Psychology; even then she had a concern for the hearts and minds of people.
Jacquie is an active and faithful member of the Greater Emanuel Apostolic Temple in Cincinnati, Ohio, where the Honorable Bishop Paul A. Bowers is the pastor. She has served in several capacities, which include, but not limited to the following: Praise and Worship Leader, Assistant Choir Director and Musician, Youth and Young Adult President and Vice-President and currently Advisor, the Ministerial Staff and Sunday School Teacher. She also works diligently throughout the State of Ohio and with The Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. She has also work with several other organizations in the areas of Music and Praise and Worship and the Evangelical field.
Jacquie is also the founder and director of the vocal music ministry: Jacquie Nixon and Abundance of Praise. Their main purpose is to uplift the Name of Jesus Christ through the ministry of song, praise and worship and through the Word of God. This ministry was birth through much pain and travail; however, it was with an abundance of praise that the Lord brought her through.
In this last day, Jacquie's focal point rests upon seeing the miraculous power of God manifest itself in a tremendous way; and the glory will belong to the Lord. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.
