Jim was born February 9, 1938 in Phoenix, AZ to a family already bursting at the seams with 12 other brothers and sisters. Three were born after him!
Music became a very important part of his life starting at the young age of 9.
The music director of the school heard him above the choir and gave him the solo parts for the Christmas program and his solo career was born.
Jim is both outgoing and shy - not ulike many show people. Because of his shyness, he decided to sing for smaller productions. He was constantly pushed toward the Met, but he just didn't have that desire.
Since these songs were not recorded professionally, I feel lucky to have his voice captured on record. Most were recorded spontaneously on a cassette recorder.
As you hear his voice, you too may wonder as I have; what would it have sounded like if recorded on the best of equipment?!
