Joe "Quarterback" Stevenson was born November 10, 1958 to the late Woodrow Wilson Stevenson Sr. and Bernadine Thomas Stevenson. He is the sixth of nine children. Joe has always been known to have a passion for music. He has been writing gospel songs since 1979 while attending North Texas State University, currently known as University of North Texas in Denton, TX. Even as a student athlete, Joe was a member of the NTSU Voices of Praise and the St. Emmanuel Baptist Church Choir. His current CD Joe Stevenson and Friends, "I Had To Wait On Him" is being played, heard, and enjoyed by people all over the world. Though it's a process, Joe has continually refused to be denied in his efforts to achieving his goal. After taking twelve years to complete the project, it has been consistently said to be an awesome masterpiece. For sure in the music industry, opinions of gospel radio announcers, program directors, general managers, and radio station owners, etc. are very important to recording artist. On July 4, 2004 Joe was blessed with the honor of being the opening act for Tony Award Winning Melba Moore. This event took place during the Connectional Lay Organization African Methodist Episcopal Church General Conference Morning Glory Breakfast in Indianapolis, Indiana. Joe's ultimate goal is to score like never before by ministering God's Word to people of every race, color, creed, and nationality.
