John David McConnell, a native of Kansas City, Kansas became a Houstonian in 1995. Almost immediately, John made a connection with Abundant Life Cathedral Church (Dr. Ed Montgomery, Pastor). From 1996 to 2002, John served as a worship leader at Abundant Life under the mentorship of Minister Mark Taylor, Committed to excellence in ministry, John has remained determined and motivated in his service to God. John has been blessed to work with many renowned artists-- gospel & secular, such as: Don Henley, Michael Crawford, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and Marvin Sapp. John's songwriting and singing talents are exhibited on three different CDs for Ablife Records.
Determined to take his songwriting abilities to another level, John founded ProLyric Productions in 200,-- a songwriting company of positive, pro-social lyrics. His goal is to WRITE THE SONGS THAT CHANGE THE WORLD. ProLyric Productions is responsible for providing various Houston organizations, some of which include Houston Independent School District and Jewish Women's International Society with captivating songs and melodies, that have become icons for the moments in which they were created.
John released his first solo CD in March 2003, Entitled "I Give My Praise", The NEWEST CD from John, titled "Motivated", is set to be released Spring 2006 on the CZM2 record label. You can witness John in Fresno, TX every Sunday at Word of Restoration Christian Fellowship (Rev. Charles E. Perry, Jr., Pastor) where he currently serves this ministry as the Minister of Music with his anointedd gift of song and praise.
