"Coming Home" is one man’s journey to find sanctuary. A deeply religious album, John Martinborough utilizes songs that span over three centuries to explore faith. From traditional hymns, to the Negro spirituals, from anthems to reggae and gospel, he gives testimony of God’s enduring love. It is prayerful. It is joyful. It is welcoming. In all aspects, it is "Coming Home."

John started singing at the age of 5 in church and hasn’t stopped since. As a child he performed on radio and television programs in both Trinidad and Guyana and as he teenager, he was given the honor of performing for the Presidents of both countries in national stadiums before audiences of thousands.

At the age of 18, he moved to New York City and eventually studied Economics at NYU. But after graduation, John returned to his passion - music. He wrote, arranged, engineered, and produced 2 Albums “I‘ve Been Waiting for You“ and “Someday Peace Love & Freedom“, completed a 12 city college and festival tour, worked with Emmy nominated director Bill Cote on a live DVD, was a featured singer and actor in the award winning play “the making of the Black Man“ at the 2002 International Fringe Festival, all along garnering accolades in print and on-line media and radio spins around the world. Reviews from the US, the UK, and Canada described his music as “genius", "blessed”, "uplifting", "extraordinary ", “unique“, and “compelling“.

“I believe we all should give back, I believe its what God wants from us.” John has performed benefit concerts for the YWCA, Lifebeat - an organization that provides concerts for patients living with AIDS, September 11th Concerts, the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Commemoration Services, and Drug Addiction Centers.

His new CD “Coming home” is a tribute to the timeless hymns that have been penned over the centuries to celebrate God’s power and beauty. In support of this CD John has completed a 5 month tour that took him to London, Guyana, Trinidad, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and selected cities in the USA - and performed with the Altino Brothers Concert Choral at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall.
