CD Review Subject: cd review Date: Wed, 5 Apr 2006 10:26:21 +0100 LYNDEN CHILDERS A FATHER'S HEART LC 733CD It is refreshing indeed to see this release by an artiste who is new to me. Born in New Jersey, based in North Carolina, Lynden draws together quality new southern-gospel material penned by Gene Enloe, Evert Sanders and Lynden himself. This eleven-tracker is ideal for ballad audiences so it will be well appreciated by country, MOR and southern gospel fans alike. Lynden is here in his best crusading vein. He passionately raises his clearly-recognizable, velvet-voice in dedicated purpose. It is a sweet crooning tenor-range voice put to good effect on this classy new devotional material that has something worthwhile to say. There are no over-used hymnal classics here so it's 'new repertoire time' all the way although the title track has classic potential as do some others. Notable North Carolina sessioners are in attendance headed by Jeff Collins. This is good grassroots Dixie-gospel music at its heart-warming best. This is the gentleman that has much to give.
