The title of this project has a double meaning in that the title song is," Yesterday
and Today", and there are songs from several years back and songs written
Recently." Yesterday and Today",was written by Ray Owens and was included on
His first project, but the latest version has been re-recorded and also has a few
Lines changed to apply to today's times. It takes us back to yesterday when the
Bible & God was prevalent in our everyday lives & today when we see the
Separation of God and state. The last line of the chorus says," one nation under
God we stood as the flag was raised, America we need to get back to the good
Old days.
There is also another theme that is prevalent to the project in reference to the
Moving and operation of the Holy Spirit in our lives and our Churches. Some
May call it "Old Time Religion", but it is very much needed more in our
Everyday life and our services. The songs," Something Got a Hold of Me", and
"I Know", written by Laverne Tripp, are messages in song to remind us that
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
The songs," Go Through the Blood",and"Down On My Knees", written by Ray
Owens, tell us that when we go to the Lord in prayer He is always ready to hear
And answer for salvation, healing, or whatever the need may be. Laverne Tripps
Song," The Answer To My Need", is also a song that brings us to the Lord to
Meet our needs
"One More Time", has been released earlier but not on an album, only as a single
and it fits perfectly with the theme of allowing the Lord to move in our hearts
and lives like water in a barren desert.
Last but not least the song," Praise Your Name", gives praise to God for all that
He has done and continues to do in our lives. As the scripture says," If We Don't
Give Praise The Rocks Will Cry Out". May we "Praise Your Name"," One More
Time" for taking us "Through The Blood" when we went "Down On Our Knees"
Both "Yesterday and Today" we can always "Come On Home" to our Father,
Then we can say," I Know", there's no doubt about it "Something Got a Hold
Of Me".
