In 1989 she got the opportunity to be female vocalist with Stardom Band of Greenville, Mississippi, where she toured from Alabama to Louisiana. Shelly decided to test the waters as a solo artist, so she moved to California to pursue her dream.

Shelly wrote all of the songs on her debut release. She has a magical way with words. Her songs come straight from her life experiences and are truly inspirational. Shelly has a style ranging from Tina Marie, Whitney Houston on down to Anita Baker and Toni Braxton, but her style comes across in her own unique way.
