The Moya family live in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. This region has one of the highest HIV infection rates in the world. The Moya family have lost both their parents and recently their eldest brother also passed away. Sadly, this story repeats itself far too often throughout South Africa. However the Moya parents left their children with a legacy before they died. The Moya children regularly join together to sing the beautiful songs that their mother and father taught them. They sing to remember the times they shared with their parents. The Moya sisters are loving, caring and they carry themselves with admirable dignity despite the hardship that they continue to go through. Unfortunately the sisters find it difficult to find work because they were forced to leave school and look after their younger siblings. In 2005 The Simunye Project recorded the beautiful songs that the Moya sisters regularly sing in remembrance of their parents. This CD is being sold to help provide an education for the Moya sisters and other families in a similar situation to equip them with the skills to create a brighter future for the Moya sisters.
