Here's the Skinny on the Phattest Hip Hop artist on the come up in Chi-Town......
Something's happening in Chicago. Cats are beginning to recognize Papa San "Rawchild" the featured artist on Blakbox Dynasty Inc. Rawchild classifies hip hop as more than music, an expression, or art form; for him, its spiritual redemption. And Rawchild wants to lead the resurrection. "I'm more of a spiritual writer," he pontificates. "I talk about struggle, things that affect us in the ghetto". Don't mistake, Rawchild is not preaching from a soap box. He's done his share of dirt, and given this, he feels he has a message to share. In addition to Rawchild entertaining he also aims to educate the youth, his song "Hold onto your dreams" from the forthcoming album BLAKMARKET is dedicated to society's youth. Papa San Rawchild has also appeared at variety public events including the Thanksgiving, 2002 Skate Jam memorial for the victims of 9/11 that raised funds for the United Way, sponsored and organized by Blakbox and the Chicago based Illanoyze Clothing Inc. Even the streets of Switzerland have love for Papa San Rawchild. Recently in a review by the Swiss based company Urban Smarts, the Rawchild received favorable remarks for "Let Go" and the single "Kustom Kut" even drew comparisons to "Ebonics" a single by the slain underground hip hop legend "Big L". Papa San Rawchild video "Let Go" was shot at club Oxygen in Chicago and the video had its debut at the prestigious Gene Siskel Theater hosted by Ed Mac, CEO of Prestige and comedian B. Cole. Rawchild had the phone lines jammed after an interview on radio station WKPO 105.9 fm in Wisconsin, while in route to perform at Chocolate City a local hot spot in Rockford, IL May 10th 2003, there the Rawchild along with three of his four label mates gave the locals a blazing performance that still has the city buzzing, in a word they can't "LET GO".
