Marcus Friend, aka The Anointed Lyrical Wiz, was reared in the poverty stricken projects of Huntsville, Alabama. After seeing his parents fall victim to drug and alcohol abuse, his future seemed dim. However, God had a different agenda for him, and in 1986, Jesus became Lord of his life. In 1995, God began to reveal to Wiz his gift of ministry through gospel hip-hop. Wiz worked with nationally revered Bishop Eddie L. Long, pastor of the 20,000 member New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga. His explosive debut album exemplifies the gift from God that Wiz has been developing, seasoning, and marinating for over six years.The album finds this gospel hip-hop ministry laced with a unique brand of southern fried, sanctified lyrics, saturated in the Word of God.
