This music is is written to express my mission and Compassionate Parenting Philosophy."This recording provides a pleasant and ideal atmosphere encouraging developmental opportunities for interactions between the parent/caregiver and child. Both the lyrics and music foster healthy relationships while enhancing language and mental development in a natural environment. I highly recommend it as an important resource for parents, early childhood programs and day care providers." -Carol Ann Gardner, Child Development Instructor, Butte/Yuba Colleges My mission is to guide parents in creating more self-compassion, self-love, and playfulness. My philosophy of transformation begins with emotional awareness. My belief is that as we remember the feelings, emotional memories, and the emotional impact, of our childhood we can then make a conscious choice to repeat the behavior or we can create new possibilities. In my workshops, parenting groups, and clinical work I utilize assessment instruments, questions, story telling, music, psycho-education, parent sharing, etc. This is done in an attempt to help the parent remember experientially, viscerally, and emotionally what it was like as a child. This is my opening for helping the parent create new choices that are in alignment with their values. I share options but more importantly help them create their own vision for themselves, their partnership (village), and their family. Who am I? Who is Dr. Beth? I unabashedly stand for greatness, compassion, love, and playfulness for all. I am a big kid with a lot of love for this planet and all the beings sharing this space. I am a vehicle of transformation. I see in people what they have not yet seen in themselves or more accurately what they have forgotten; which is, that they are perfect and divine just as they are and that there is choice for new creation in every new moment. If we could remember this as adults and help children never forget, I believe we could create peace, love, and a lot of fun on this earth. What is my expertise? I have a B.S. degree from Baylor University, in clinical psychology, my Masters of Education is from Vanderbilt University in organizational development and human resources, and I have a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies with a focus on children and family's emotional development and health. I worked for 5 years in clinical training programs under supervision of some of the best child psychologists in the bay area, and some would argue the country. I have had my own clinical practice, groups, and workshops for the past three years. It is through my personal journey, my clinical study, and my 20 plus years of experience working as a facilitator, consultant, and clinical psychologist that my compassionate parenting vision is informed. It was only in the last year that I realized, I am absolutely okay, there is nothing wrong with me, that I am actually great just as I am. Now standing in that space, I can live, act, sing, dance, speak and make free choices. This is what I want to share with everyone I meet. The reason I have targeted children and parents is because this interaction, the child being born, the parent/child relationship is an opening for transformation.
