55 STITCHES is a Nu-Metal/Industrial band, based out of Toronto, Ontario (Canada). Fans of the band describe the music as heavy and very dark, combining the influences of Marilyn Manson, NiN, Alice In Chains and Rob Zombie.
Jasun Bernath is the founder and creator behind the project, and with his 17 years of musical experience, 55 STITCHES has a clear direction and musical vision. Being the frontman onstage, Jasun is also responsible for the band's debut indie CD release, "It's Your Funeral". He wrote, played and produced the entire CD from his studio.
Jasun writes:
"55 STITCHES was born from a very dark period of my life back in 2003. All my attempts at domesticity and a 'normal life' had failed, and I was left with nothing but this darkness corroding my heart. I've always wanted to channel my past and my experiences into music, and this band has been a long time coming..."
"I am so excited to share my life, my experiences and observations with our fans. 55 STITCHES is my own version of twisted psychotherapy. If our fans continue to get into it and continue to support us as rabidly as they are, that's great, but it's not the main reason behind this at all. We're here to cast a spotlight on all those emotions that we hide away, and that we're afraid to speak about and admit to, but that cross our minds, our consciousness, and sometimes cripple and consume us."
"We're gonna breed and bleed, on negativity we'll feed. Dysfunction is all we need."
In early 2005, 55 STITCHES is currently gearing up to support their debut CD, and getting road-ready to play gigs across Southern Ontario.
