In San Francisco, 1999, guitarist/vocalist Shawn Killingsworth, drummer Andrew Falk, and bassist Manny Lopez started jamming under the name "Skarecrow." After several lineup changes, and a new name, the original 3 were back together. An evolution in sound placed them firmly in their classic Metal roots. In December of 2004 Shawn and Manny began hammering out the classic metal anthems of "Viking Steel." March 2005 saw the addition of lead guitarist Sean Tripi. His sense of melody, harmony, and straight ahead shredding proved to be the missing link.
As a live band, Killingsworth plays with fire, passion, and unbridled intensity, and have shared the stage with such noted bands as: Testament, Obituary, Stone Vengeance and Raven.
Heavily rooted in N.W.O.B.H.M., Viking Steel is classic Heavy Metal in its purist form. Galloping riffs, dual guitar harmonies, shredding solos, and growling, yet melodic vocals. These are the epic tales of vikings, tyrants, and noble warriors taking to battle with a thirst for victory, and blood. Truly METAL for the head!!!
