Keep Hollywood Out of Winnipeg captures the Teenage Knockups as they should be remembered...shamefully fast, snotty, pissed off, angsty, and as clever a bunch of punks you could ever hope to find! Formed in August of 2001 in the freezing Prairie metropolis otherwise known as Winnipeg, Manitoba, the Knockups wasted no time penning early classics on getting high, being bored, having sex...and well, getting more high. Furious circle pits, spray painted parking lots, a smashed ceiling, and a stolen mini-van made thier first gig a memorable one....and overzealous crowds would become a staple for the band. A couple more years of relentless gigging and playing with their trademark reckless abandon (singer Gaddy seemed to spend more time in the pit than on stage!) saw the Knockups share the stage with notable Canadian punk/hardcore bands like the Wednesday Night Heroes, Under Pressure, Resistance, and the Sick Fits. Then the Knockups ego got a huge boost when they were asked to open for the legendary UK Subs in the spring of 2004. If you're a fan of the Circle Jerks, Adolescents, Germs, or Black Flag you have something in common with these young rabblerousers. So don't sit back, and definitely don't relax....just turn it up and enjoy the Teenage Knockups at their finest!
