This CD was inspired by the music of John Coltrane, whose release album entitled "Meditations," was a multi-dimensional sound experience that lifted the consciousness to new heights of understanding of Self; also by Kitaro, whose music can give one the sense of travel without movement. Kitaro provides a rich mixture of rhythm, instrumental textures and melodic intricacies that carry your inner experience to a place of new serenity. Meditation is an experience not a goal to obtain.

There is a place that exists inside each of us that is peace and calm as well as excitement and discovery, this is the place that meditation lets us see. Trying to quiet that which spends it time cataloging and deciding on things, is like trying to turn off the universe. As we know the universe does not have an on/off switch. It is the same with our own consciousness. After all, what is our psyche but a mirror of the universe in the micro-cosmic sense? To try and travel to a place which is all around us is pointless effort at best. To meditate one must listen to all and become nothing. The listener becomes the sound and the sound is no longer heard --it is merely a part of all. Our minds truly connect to all that is around us, while embracing the fullness of life brings the ultimate calm to the soul.

Our capacity to experience is governed by our love of self, the more we love our selves the greater the return. Through meditation we learn not to sit in judgment of ourselves, but to experience ourselves. As we reach for the edge of the universe we accept what we are as a part of the vastness. To flow with our consciousness in meditation, we are given the gift of wisdom and understanding.

To take a more aggressive step towards an understanding of meditation the music presented is both rhythmical and harmonically complex with multi-level thematic structure. It will provide a rich tapestry of sound that will release you as well as consume you. Let yourself be carried through your meditation. There is no struggle for tranquility -- all that you experience is the meditation.
