David A. Lewis is a recording artist, prolific composer/arranger, writer, music director, choral director, and music educator. He has been commissioned numerous times to write original music for theatre, radio, and video. His commissioned theatre works include original music and lyrics for C.S. Lewis' "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol (Scrooge)," Tim Kelley's melodrama "No Opera at the Op'ry House Tonight," and Anne Relph's play, "All Aboard Westcliffe". David is also the creator (book, music, and lyrics) of the family musical "The Lost Children" (a.k.a. "A Magical Journey"), which debuted to audiences in 1994 and continues to run in theatres. In addition to serving as musical director for these original shows, David has also been the music director for many other musical productions including "Oklahoma," "Grease," and "Facets of Broadway." David also was commissioned to write the music for the "SkyPark" infomercial.

In response to the tragic events of September 11, 2001 David penned the emotionally charged patriotic pop song "America! America!" which was performed by Cypress "Pops" Orchestra for over 3,000 people in which David received a standing ovation. "America! America!" has also been used by DisneyGOALS, radio stations KFI and KUCI, the city of Irvine's "Light of Unity" candlelight vigil program, and for numerous other community events. On February 11, 2003 a special performance of "America! America!" was televised on local cable television.

David's solo piano CD of original music called, "Coming of Age" was released in November of 2002 and is currently available for purchase at selected stores and through his website "trailblazermusic.com". David performs for various venues, numerous charitable events, and will be performing at the Nixon Library in the Fall of 2003. David's next CD, "From the Beginning" will be available in January of 2004.

David taught piano at Golden West Community College, CA for nine years and currently operates his own piano and recording studio. He has been the church choir director and pianist for Fairview Community Church in Costa Mesa, CA for the last nine years. David is a Piano Performance Scholarship winner from the University California, Irvine where he holds degrees in both Piano Performance and Political Science and he is currently pursing a degree in film scoring at UCLA. David presently lives in North Tustin, CA with his wife, Laura and their two cats, Sophie & Turbo.
