Serene and peaceful, the ocean waters of Maine's Acadia National Park are among the most beautiful in the world. We journeyed there on a clear, starry night in June to record the ocean surf. Combined with majestic, uplifting music this extraordinary disc is the result. Ed Van Fleet is a successful composer of instrumental music with 20 albums released. His recordings have sold over two million copies, with "Oceans" selling 200,000 units. He has created soundtracks for 17 films and documentaries, including the Peabody Award winning "Moonshot" which commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing. His music has also been featured at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. In 1990 he pioneered the concept of the in-store interactive listening display and received a patent on this technology in 1994. He remains active as a full time composer and records/produces other independent artists.
