Making the CD:
In April 2005 I was given a dream of seven song titles. I woke up and wrote them down. With no effort on my part a sound engineer, a cover designer, and a copywriter showed up in a week. I took all this as a big "YES!" from the Divine. I decided to spontaneously perform the songs that went with each of the titles live at the microphone. No sheet music, just sing the songs in the moment as they are given to me from Spirit. Two more songs arrived during recording, The Song of the Elves and Midnight Crossing.
My Spirit Song Journey:
My journey toward Spirit Song began in l998 after ten years as an author, clairvoyant Healing Touch Therapist, hypnotherapist, and meditation teacher. (Hard to believe its been nearly 20 years now.) When my daughter and I crossed the Austin City Limits line on I-35 into Austin, Texas on yet another move, I heard an inner voice, now well familiar to me.
This was the voice that suggested we move our family from the Rockies to Oregon, and the voice that suggested my first mission was to "help men and women worship (shape in worth) the Divine Feminine." Now, here it was again. "There are people here who will pay to hear you sing." The message was clear and unmistakable. I laughed out loud! I told my daughter and we both had a good laugh over it. What a completely absurd idea!
Giving a private energy healing session for arthritis two years later, a song rose up from within me. Instead of stomping it down or swallowing it, I let it come through. The normal healing time was reduced by half.
Two days after that I heard a radio interview with a Lapland singer who offered a traditional folksong form, "joyking" (yoyking) in which he sang the essence or soul pattern of a Nature being, such as a bird, stone, or deer. Reassured by this, I understood that I had been given a new kind of work, singing soul songs for healing.
During the last six years my body-mind-spirit healing practice has focused on soulweaving songs for individuals and small groups. You can find more about my books, flower essences, and healing services at my website.
When I sing, it is from a deep meditative state in which all is One-- no division, conflict, judgment--only a unity of consciousness, that which is IS in the present moment.
It is my hope that Through the Sun, Into the Stars will give you an experience of that same peaceful heart. And one by one the circle of peace will expand across the planet, heart to heart, star to star.
