Although usually classified as a New Age recording artist, Balint's compositions draw from a breadth of jazz, pop and classical influences. John uses piano, synthesizer, voice and percussion to create spacious arrangements that invite the listener to revel in the beauty of the moment. Listeners have commented that his music has a "cinematic" or "panoramic" quality--it'd be right at home in an epic motion picture.

Silver Linings, John's third commercial release, represents his debut as a singer/songwriter. While fans of his earlier instrumental recordings will recognize the soothing qualities of the music, Silver Linings adds thoughtful lyrical content and takes John's message to a whole new level of meaning and expression.

A meditation on the eternal cosmic dance between darkness and light, Silver Linings is a collection of songs about hope. Without being sappy or trite, the songs on this album will leave you feeling uplifted.

Drawing from the vocal influences of Peter Gabriel and Sting, and the harmonic inspirations of jazz pianist Bill Evans, guitarist Pat Metheny, producer Brian Eno, and many others, John has matured in his own right as a composer/producer who now adds "lead vocalist" to his list of recording credits.
