Joshua Bedell is a solo musician who has been playing in various venues around New York for 15 years. He is now working on his second album and plans to compose several more.

Joshua has played with world renown congo player Giovanni Hidalgo and Kim Nazarian from the New York Voices, and Charles Sarling (plays in the Arturo Sandoval and Maynard Furguson Big Band). Josh has studied with greats such as Barry Harris , Sir Roland Hanna, and Elliot DelBorgo.

He is able to improvise in any key in any style, but he prefers to compose with a jazzy/new age feel. Josh does not like to record with a sampled drum beat, or percussion sounds. He plays all of the percussion parts himself and records them onto different tracks. This makes his music more bona fide sounding than other artists who do not have the experience in playing percussion.

People tell him he sounds like Jim Brickman, but jazzier and more hip. Studying classical and jazz music enables Joshua to compose in eclectic styles that separate him from other artists.
