Kenny Kleinpeter has really done it this time! While he has connected through his music with his native Louisiana surroundings in several of his previous releases, this time, he travels to another time.

He combines his job as a composer with his avocation as caretaker of the oldest little cemetery in Baton Rouge. Highland Cemetery, circa 1815, next to the sprawling campus of LSU was once on an isolated hillside overlooking the flood plain of the Mighty Mississippi River. It holds the graves of some of the most important settlers and officials of the early Spanish, French, English and American goverments.

Songs about the peaceful nature of the site and descriptions of the lives of these people relive the emotions of nineteenth century life -- life in a harsh but beautiful new world. You will definitly connect with the emotions of such brave people through this CD.
