Note: I normally donate 10% of proceeds to charities. But, because the minimum price here is $4.00, I am going to donate $1.50 of each "Can You Hear Me" CD sold to combating World Hunger. Check my web site, Odds&Ends, for more information.

This song is a mellow plea to a loved one after something has caused the other pain … to the point of turning away and not talking anymore. It is simply a vocal, piano and cello arrangement.

The music Ray Pascoe creates is not easy to pin down. He describes it as a unique blend of "non-Nashville country and new age folk" in which every instrument plays a completely different role. The guitar tends toward folk. The synthesizer tends toward new age. And the piano tends toward easy listening.

When asked about his musical influences, Ray points to acclaimed singers and songwriters like Jim Croce, James Taylor, Sting, and Paul Simon, among many others. But he adds that the famed Enya is his true idol. "Her music and style touches something deep within me," says Ray. And though this blend of influences may seem a little peculiar at first, it all makes perfect sense when you sit down and take a good listen to some of Ray's work. It blends all the best elements of a wide variety of genres, and it all comes together far more cohesively than you would have ever imagined possible.

Although working on his first full length album, Ray currently has four albums worth of existing material, and enough new material to produce a fifth. In addition, he is taking steps toward the creation of a high-quality home studio.

"My ultimate goal is to freely express myself," says Ray. "If during that journey I land a major label deal or have at least one platinum release, that'd be great. But it's not a goal. My immediate goal is to become known and liked by more than 100 people; 100,000 would be nice...I just want to be able to create music for as long as I am able."
