Coming from a musical family, Reggie Grantham started playing the piano at the age of six. He began writing music and songs almost right away. As a result songwriting and composing became the musical skills he developed. Through high school he continued to study music, and began playing professionally while attending college. However, music was not his chosen field of study, and he selected a career in construction management. Following college and a few years in the construction industry, a window of opportunity came that took his path in life a completely different direction.
As a young man without what might be considered traditional ties, Reggie left his hometown of Seattle Washington on what became a life changing adventure. He loaded ski equipment and four seasons worth of clothing into a 1962 Ford Econoline van, and embarked on a quest to see the United States. The primary mission was ski bumming, travel and adventure. The journey lasted 13 months and essentially took him to all four corners of the country. To help pay for his adventures along the way, he played piano at many hotels and restaurants. With the success he experienced during his travels, Reggie decided to go to one of the core cities of the music industry and pursue a full time career in music. Moving to Los Angeles, California, he formed the 'Reggie Grantham Band'. The band recorded two albums ‘The Shirt Off My Back’ and ‘Love Interest’. They performed as opening act for Eddie Money as well as The Kingbees. Reggie also produced several bands and artists including two albums for Los Angeles Salvages from Michoacan, Mexico, songs for actress Shawnee Smith and many others. More recently, he composed and produced a background music library of his own called ‘Backtracks’. Reggie eventually decided to stop the full-time musical endeavors and instead re-focused his career efforts back into construction management. Soon with the addition of a young family, ‘part-time’ became ‘no-time’! But as the demands lessened, he could not resist the draw of music. As a result, he has return to his musical roots with the recording of his solo acoustic piano CD ‘Daybreak’. Reggie hopes that this music finds it's way into your spirit, and that you can share the enjoyment he had creating it. Reggie currently resides in the Seattle Washington area with his wife Michele and their two children Solie & Joe. Check out the artist's website: http://reggiegrantham.com Track List: 1.
